Social and economic effects

Being well aware of the fact that we are dealing here with a communities of a mixed ethnic character, and what is more, the fact that in 2001 the Municipality of Jegunovce was caught in the middle of the political conflict, the intention was to use the joint training of the volunteers, teachers and pupils to narrow the gap and promote collaboration for a better future, in this particular case that being joint work on promoting energy efficiency. Additionally, those are one of the country’s poorest communities facing a very limited budget. Particular problems occur in the field of electrical energy usage since with the new act of decentralization, schools now fall under the management of the community itself, and the financial means are by 40% less.
With the realization of this project part of the problems was resolved, and part of them reduced. The idea is also for the local residents to be encouraged to set up their own businesses in this area of interest.
